Project Detail

1967 Pontiac GTO

Joe’s GTO started as a quick exhaust job but turned into so much more. Upon inspection, we found a lot of things that needed to be fixed. We pulled the engine to fix oil leaks and re-gasket the entire long block. While it was out, we installed a Butler Performance top end kit with CNC Edelbrock heads, hydraulic roller conversion camshaft, and Holley 850 Brawler carburetor.

The front drive was converted to serpentine with March Performance front drive system. Exhaust note is produced from Doug’s long tube headers connected to Magnaflow 3” stainless exhaust. Coolant temps are held in check with aluminum radiator and Durale dual electric fans. This works great to keep the pressures down on the Vintage air AC system. The entire wiring harness was replaced and tucked on the car from front to back.

A One of a Kind Transformation

Inside the car we fitted the dash with a Dakota Digital RTX instrument cluster for a modern but factory finish. The wood veneer was replaced on the dash panel to wrap around the new Retro-Manufacturing bluetooth radio.

We dialed in ignition timing and carburetor tuning on the chassis dyno to produce 330/370 wheel horsepower on 93 octane through a TH400 transmission. This is estimated to produce over 400+ flywheel horsepower for a really fun and reliable combination.
