2013 Chevy Suburban

Fred Schaefer brought us his very clean 2013 Suburban from some very tasteful mods. This is a daily driver and road trip vehicle so the combination was carefully curated. This combination netted 150 rear wheel horsepower on 93 octane and an additional 40 on E85. We were only able to get the fuel up to E50 so there is without a doubt more power on the table. We usually see 60-80 rear wheel horsepower gains on forced induction combinations when switching from 93 to E85.

Despite the Deatchwerks fuel system being rated for E85, the braided lines did not hold up and had to be replaced. We switched over to Fore Innovations PTFE braided lines which can handle ethanol for long periods of time. Fred has about 20K miles on this combination and absolutely loves it.

A One of a Kind Transformation

The dyno results speak for themselves—Fred’s Suburban picked up a remarkable 150 horsepower at the wheels on 93 octane, with even more gains realized when switching to ethanol blend fuel. On E50, the truck saw an additional 40 horsepower, showing the true potential of this setup once full E85 is utilized.

The torque curve remains strong and consistent throughout the RPM range, delivering smooth, usable power for both daily driving and long road trips. These results highlight not only the effectiveness of the modifications but also the reliability and drivability of the combination.
